A Lee Bollinger Rope-A-Dope

will admit that Lee Bollinger surprised me today. He was much tougher on ImANutJob than I thought he was going to be. It was a great way to introduce him and I give credit to President Bollinger for saying these things to his face.

Now…

Ahmadinejad should have never been there in the first place. I’m sure that Bollinger and some students think they accomplished something by having said these things directly to Ahmadinejad. The only thing they did was make themselves feel better.

When this is shown to the people of Iran and to Muslim fundamentalists from around the world, do you think they will see that part of the speech? Do you think they will see Ahmadinejad ducking questions and delivering flat out lies? Of course not. They will see the edited version in which some idiots in the crowd actually cheered for the Tehranian Tyrant.

Mr. Bollinger, I’m sure it felt great for you to stand on the stage and say these things. (Unless you didn’t really want to say them but knew if you didn’t that alumni would hold funds) I’m sure you have a sense of pride for looking at Ahmadinejad and getting these points off your chest. However, your pursuits of euphoria are not reason enough to create the damage you have by giving this evil person a platform at your university.

Sleep well tonight. No matter what you think you did, Ahmadinejad will sleep just fine. In fact, I’m sure he’s laughing at you.

Does the Milwaukee Common Council care about Milwaukee?

This is just stupid. Even if you support that crappy KRM idea, this is STILL just stupid.

In two moves that touch on city-suburban relationships, the Milwaukee Common Council voted Tuesday to oppose the widening of I-94 south of the city and to allow talks to begin on the possible sale of additional water to New Berlin.

Both measures passed easily as aldermen held their last scheduled meeting of 2007.

The I-94 measure, which passed 10-4, opposes the expansion of the highway to eight lanes. Instead, the resolution calls for the existing six lanes to be rebuilt, with savings from the $1.9 billion project to be used to bolster high-speed and commuter rail initiatives.

Not that it really matters since this is advisory only (one could even ask why they wasted time on this) but how can you possibly think adding a lane on the interstate is a bad idea? 85% of the people in Milwaukee DRIVE CARS!! Do you think they (the council) even cares anymore what people think of them? Have they become so obtuse and irrelevant that people don’t even get mad anymore when they do something this stupid?
